CEAT Cricketer voting now on web

Voting to choose Sri Lanka’s most popular cricketer of the year has begun, and the buzz is spreading like wildfire following a decision by contest sponsor CEAT Sri Lanka to offer voting via the worldwide web.

A dedicated website www.ceatsrilankacricketawards.com and a page on facebook for cricket fans to cast their votes have seen the competition off to a spectacular start, with the facebook URL www.facebook.com/ceatsrilankacricketawards attracting a fan base of 2685 and more than 1646 posts in its first 24 hours.

Voting for the 2011 CEAT Peoples Player of the Year, one of the highlights of the annual CEAT Sri Lanka Cricket Awards, ends on November 25. Voting may be also be done via SMS on five mobile networks — Dialog, Etisalat, Mobitel, Hutch and Airtel — and the CDMA services of Lanka Bell, Suntel and SLT City Link. Voters should type CEAT (space) Name of the Cricketer and send to 6797 to participate.
