Baby tiger stuffed in bag at Thai airport
Lady got caught at the Thailand Airport on 27th August 2010 trying to smuggle a baby tiger drugged and stuffed amongst an assortment of stuffed animals in a suitcase to Iran.
The cub was only an estimated 3 months old, and is now under the custody of Department of National Parks’ Wildlife and Plant Conservation Center, being held under close supervision.
"He appeared exhausted, dehydrated and couldn’t walk, so we had to give him oxygen, water and lactation," head of the unit comment, saying the cub can now walk and is making a good recovery.
The woman faces a possible sentence of 4 years in jail and a 40,000 dollar fine-but has denied the baggage is even hers.
If having been able to sale the cub in Iran, she may have made up to 100,000 dollars; It has not been determined what she had planned on doing with the young feline.
