New Photoshop CS5 Content Aware fill
If you’re into graphics design you must have had the painful experience of removing various elements on images to suit your design. This can be a very tiring and a time consuming task. You will be glad to know that the new Photoshop CS5 will be addressing it in a BIG way. Its called “content aware fill”.
The method is simple : You just select the element that needs to be removed and hit the delete button. The new Photoshop CS5 will do the rest. Most of the time its pretty straight forward but sometimes you need to understand the correct type of selection tools and try a few times to get the perfect effect. Its a real life saver.
I’m going to show you three examples to demonstrate the power of content aware fill.
Example 1 – Just the beach
| Step1. Select the wooden beams with the lasso tool. |
| Step2. Press delete button to bring up the content aware fill dialog. |
| Step 3. Photoshop will remove and fill the gaps thanks to content aware fill. |
Example 2 – Take that rogue tree out
| Step1. Select the tree and its shadow with the lasso tool. |
| Step2. Press delete button to bring up the fill dialog. |
| Step 3. Photoshop will get rid of the tree and fill it accordingly. |
